Wallpaper Murals: A Declaration of Style and Ancient Connection

Wall art has been a part of human culture since prehistoric times. Even people living in caves thought they should do something about those dull and boring walls, thus, the first graffiti and murals were born. Since then, murals have found their way on the walls of temples, cathedrals, palaces, libraries, on the streets, and as of late, they are becoming a growing trend in home décor.

Wallpaper Mural

The word mural itself originates from the Latin word murus which literally means wall. The definition of murals today includes any piece of artwork which is painted on a wall, ceiling or any other type of large permanent surface, flat or curved. The mural has been a form of expression for many artists throughout history, including masters such as Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Picasso, Dali, and of course, my favorite contemporary street artist Banksy.

But, having an original mural painted on your living room wall can be way too expensive since you can’t really put a price on art. This is where a wallpaper mural comes in handy. It is next best thing and it will have just as much impact on your space as a real mural would.

A wallpaper mural can completely change the feel of your home and literally add a new dimension to it. With the advances in today’s printing technology and wallpaper materials such as vinyl, you can find a wide range of affordable top-quality wallpaper murals to cover up those boring or even ugly walls.

As I mentioned, today’s printing techniques can produce amazingly realistic wallpaper murals, even with 3D effects that pop right out of the wall. The range of different designs is practically infinite, which means you will certainly find the style that suits your taste, personality, home décor, and so on.

Choose from styles such as vintage or retro, contemporary, cityscape murals, nature, street art, pop art, kids murals, and so on. If you want something more subtle, you can always go for some of the many textures like brick, tile, wood, stone, and so on, which are way more practical and cost effective than remodeling your home with the real thing. And again, you will be amazed at how realistic they look.

As far as the benefits of mural wallpapers go, the list goes on forever. Some of the more obvious ones are that they are much more practical and efficient than paint and very easy to install; you can change them whenever you feel without any trouble; they work in any location in your home; they are a great way to make a statement; they are really eye catching.

Overall, wallpapers today are no longer associated with an ugly, old-fashioned look, instead, they are the perfect modern option for your interior design.
