Industrial: The Style of the Future with Fine Traces from the Past
If you thought mixing styles was something that results coincidentally, you’re wrong. The baby resulting from mixing modern with old styles of furniture has a name and it’s called industrial. Industrial furniture is often described as the type of furniture that features rustic reminiscence and hearkens to popular materials which make the basis for modern furniture. You’d see a lot of unfinished wood, exposed steel materials and a lot of copper and chrome parts. There is use a considerable use of raw wood and bold metal – a very unconventional mix.
Think of an interior design that can be simply described as extremely fine: vintage details with a certain storyline attached to them contributing to a certain charm that surrounds the room. Dominance of a lot of brown nuances, creamy shades and simple wood colours. I’ve been wondering for quite some time how to introduce industrial furniture in my rooms and that’s because I already have all the basic furniture positioned and now I just want to change something for the sake of refreshment. There are basically a few pieces of industrial furniture you can use to add a dose of classy modernism to your existing design pattern.
Table
The table with metal legs and a wooden surface can easily find its place in your home and moreover, offer the design direction for the entire ambiance. You can use it in your kitchen or the balcony, as most designs are very eye-appealing and king of gentle, which is why I wouldn’t place them outside on the patio.
Small Chairs
You can find amazing small chairs made entirely of wood. These remind so much of the chairs your old grandparents used to have in their backyards, with the difference that they used to produce them themselves from bare wood. On the other hand, the industrial styled ones differ largely as they don’t look like they were made in the back of an old basement. You can use these cuties for equipping a small coffee corner in your home. You can add a low coffee table in the same colour and material and place it somewhere near a window for the extra effect.
Decorations
Decorative elements like hanging and floor lamps, pillows and rugs are also a good and easy way to incorporate the industrial style in your rooms. Think a lot of interesting pieces with unconventional materials like ropes, brushed steel metal and strong plastic hanging from your ceiling in the form of lights or decorating your home office in the form of floor lamps. Also, if you prefer bare floors, add a touch of cosiness and warmth with the use of wool rugs, which are so industrial style. Make sure the colour choice will be in accordance with the rest of your furniture, or at least in the same colour family.
