Hassle-Free Camping: The Benefits of Pop Up Tents

Hurray, it’s officially camping season! After surviving the gloomy winter locked indoors, I just can’t wait to get a taste of that fresh mountain air again. And I’m sure neither can you. After all, venturing into nature is the perfect way to get away from the stress of everyday life and recharge up your batteries.

However, sometimes going camping can also be stressful on its own. For many people, the hassle of pitching their shelter up is the main drawback of camping. No-one wants to waste their valuable day on reading complex instructions that are of no help and trying to figure out what pole goes where. The solution to this common annoyance? A pop-up tent.

For the minimalist campers who love to go exploring on their own or in a pair, pop up tents can be the ideal choice. As you can already guess from the name, setting up a pop-up tent is literally only a matter of releasing the band so that the tent can “pop up” from its pack. You really don’t need to do anything else besides peg it to the ground. Thanks to this simplistic design, a pop-up tent can be set up in only a minute, leaving you plenty of time to have fun on your camping trip.

Besides being easy to put up and take down, another advantage of pop up tents is that they are travel-friendly due to being lightweight and easy to store. Thanks to their compact design, you’re left with more storage space to bring along additional supplies and camping gear which can make your stay more enjoyable. And besides camping and backpacking, pop up tents are usually the go-to choice for festivals which means you can get plenty of use out of your tent if you’re into that sort of thing.

But the fact that these tents are lightweight and easy to store and set up doesn’t mean that they aren’t able to withstand the elements. For one, most pop up tents offer UV protection, which is an especially important feature considering the blazing sun dominating in the summer. On the other hand, rain shouldn’t worry you either if you choose a tent made of a water-resistant material and with a thick floor. Additionally, make sure to peg your tent securely to the ground so you don’t get blown away in case of windy weather.

But before you purchase a pop-up tent, ask yourself how many people will use the tent. If the answer is only one or two, a true pop up will offer enough comfort. On the other hand, if you’re planning to get a tent for the whole family or more than 3 people, consider getting a hybrid pop up which comes in much larger sizes and has built-in lightweight poles. Regardless of which one you choose, both are much easier to set up and carry around than a traditional tent.
