Benefits Of Being A Working Mom
Mother’s Day is soon-to-be and that special day reminds me of the first crayon-scribbled drawing I got from my little girl: ‘Happy Mother’s Day mommy. I love you’. Watching the light in her little eyes when she has finally made something that has been tough to learn, was the most precious gift that I ever got.
One of the greatest perks of being a mum is the one-of-a-kind love between the mother and her child. Me, as a mum, I love the Saturday mornings in PJs, making pancakes with my little girl. Unfortunately, the fact that I am a full-time working mom hinders me from spending a lot of time with her. That is why I dedicate the weekends to my daughter and most important of all, we have the extra time to snuggle.
I do feel guilty sometimes for being a full-time working mum. However, whenever I feel bad about not spending a full day with my princess, I remember my mom and how successfully she handled job and family. Being a working mom helps me remember that I have lots of things going for myself.
You Are Able To Do More For Your Child
It is always nice to do things for your little one, right? And being a hard-working mom will definitely create more possibilities to offer your child things you probably cannot if being a stay-at-home mom. It’s clear I am talking about finances. As a working mom, you can afford to buy your kid(s) clothes and toys they want. The moments of seeing that beautiful smile on your child’s face are simply priceless.
Your Life Has A Healthy Balance
The truth is, stay-at-home moms struggle with unbalanced lifestyle due to the fact that they spend too much time with their children. The good thing about being a working mom is that you do spend time with your child, but are not missing your ‘adult time’. Being totally wrapped up in your kid(s) will make you lose your identity. And this is what usually happens to moms that stay at home.
Less Financial Stress
Yes, money is not everything, but it certainly decreases the financial stress that can weigh on you if being a stay-at-home mom. Two steady paychecks is certainly better than one. It does make a difference. I truly believe that sometimes it is really hard to find a job and perhaps that’s why there are many stay-at-home moms who try to find ways to make money from home. Hats off to them. I personally admire and salute these moms. Life is way more enjoyable without financial burdens heavily weighing on your shoulders.
Thanks to my mom, I do not feel bad about being a working mom. In fact, I feel as if I am offering more to my child. If your mom is your biggest support, surprise her with something nice this Mother’s Day. It is never too late to do something nice for our mothers no matter what.
