Animals Need Supplements Too: These Are The Benefits

Though not all of us are fans of supplements, it’s become a word we hear almost everywhere. Truth be told, food processing and farming aren’t done in the same way they were decades and centuries ago, so food alone isn’t enough to supply us with the necessary amount of vitamins and minerals we need to have optimal health.

If poor nutrition is bad for us, then it’s no different for animals either, and it’s up to you as a responsible and caring owner to supply them with the needed animal vitamins and minerals, enriching their diet.

Supplements are beneficial for pets as much as they are for chickens, horses, sheep and cattle. Sometimes you may perceive your animals are feeling under the weather, and lack of specific vitamin or mineral could be the cause of it.

If you want them to be healthy, productive, as well as control and prevent diseases, then supplements of animal vitamins and minerals should be part of the nutrition. Along with an illness and the antibiotics treatment, the immune system of animals can easily be weakened due to stress, same as ours does.p-3325-animal-pak-pills

Anything can cause stress, even something that doesn’t seem like a stressful situation to us, such as changes in their usual environment, a vet checkup, or the arrival of a new animal suddenly sharing their home.

As long as you ensure the supplements you purchase are based on natural ingredients from natural sources, free from antibiotics and hormones, there’s no reason to fear them.

Other situations where supplements prove to be essential is when dealing with animals in growth and pregnancy; if you want them to grow into the healthy and happy animals you need them to be, then multivitamins shouldn’t be avoided.

Some of the basic vitamins supplements could provide are the B vitamins, C, K, D, E, and A, but of course, it depends on the kind of animal it is you need the supplements for, and the amount they need.vitamins-trace-minerals-animal-feeds-1601

While the B vitamins have to do with energy, and the health of the gut, it’s vitamins C, A, and E that are helpful with the immune function, whereas D plays its role in bone growth and metabolism.

Speaking of the gut, you can’t forget the role of probiotics either, because they don’t only enhance the growth of healthy microflora, they also help prevent imbalances, and treat digestive issues like the Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
