3 Benefits of Having Aloe Plants at Home

aloe_Vera

Aloe vera is one of the most popular plant choices for adding a touch of greenery and freshness to a space. It is easy to grow and makes an impressive statement wherever placed – be that in the kitchen, living room, bedroom, balcony, etc. But this succulent is much more than just a decorative houseplant – it also has some health benefits that make it THE houseplant to grow.

But first things first – how do you plant and grow aloe plants? You can purchase these beauties from online or local nurseries at an affordable price. Once you’ve bought your aloe plants, plant them in a small or a medium-sized pot. Water them about once a week, allowing the soil to become dry in the meantime. Pour water slowly in the centre of the plant and keep it in a sunny spot to get the best out of it.

Boosts Immunity

Aloe plants have natural detoxifying properties that effectively cleanse the digestive and circulatory system. As the absorption level of nutrients increases, it results in better blood circulation and healthier cells. The healthy cells improve your body’s ability to ward off infections and strengthen your immune system. If you want to consume it orally – make an aloe vera juice. Once your plants are ready to be used, cut an entire large leaf or a few small leaves off the plant. Peel off the green outer layer from one side and with a spoon, scoop out the inside of it. Put the gel in a blender and blend it until it becomes smooth. Use about 2 tablespoons of the gel per glass of water. Keep the aloe gel stored in the refrigerator.

Heals Wounds

The aloe vera gel is an excellent product to apply to wounds to help them heal faster. Its antiseptic properties help keep the wound clean and free of infection while its anti-inflammatory properties help aid in the healing process. The aloe gel also stimulates the growth and proliferation of new cells to help rebuild injured tissue. It can even help reduce pain.

Purifies the Air in Your Home

Research conducted by Nasa scientists listed the aloe vera plant as one of the ideal houseplants for air purification. Unlike most other plants, aloe vera releases oxygen and absorbs carbon dioxide at night. For this reason, many people recommend keeping an aloe vera plant in the bedroom so it can purify the air during the night.

Although aloe vera is safe for most people to use, you should pay attention to how your body reacts to it. If you experience any sensibilities or adverse reactions, stop using it.
