Must-Have Caravan Appliances and Accessories for Any Adventure
When you go on long trips, you have to give up some of the things you enjoy at home. For example, your king-size bed, well-stocked kitchen, and big shower are just a few of the things you’ll miss. But with a few changes here and there, you can make sure that your caravan is both useful and comfortable to spend time in on the road for extended trips and off-road camping adventures!
Electrical hook-up cable for various caravan appliances
You should already have one of these in your caravan or motorhome, but if you don’t or if the one you have needs to be replaced, you’ll require a long cable with big blue three-pin adaptors on both ends to take full advantage of your reliable 12 volt appliances for caravans (including cooking appliances, heaters, air conditioners, washing machines, etc.) without which you can’t fully enjoy life on the road. Some caravans may require an additional extension, which is best connected with a weatherproof coupler safebox.
Water filtration system
The most useful and money-saving thing you need to buy before you hit the road is a water filter. It’s important to stay hydrated, but buying bottled water can add up to a lot of money. Even if you plan where to stop, you can’t be sure that there will be water that you can drink. A water filter costs about $300, which might seem like a lot, but the average price of a litre of bottled water in Australia is around $2.75.
Portable coffee maker
Even in the middle of nowhere, you don’t have to give up good coffee. Several compact kitchen 12 volt appliances for caravans can help you make a tasty cup of espresso. From a French press to a standard espresso machine, you have a lot of options. If you like lattes, you can also get portable milk frothers that don’t take up a lot of room. With a coffee machine, you’ll save time and money and have a fresh cup of coffee every morning.
Portable mini-fridge
No matter how long or short your trip is, having a portable camper fridge or/and freezer is a great way to make cooking and enjoying fresh beverages more comfortable, especially when it’s hot and you need cold drinks. Not only can you use them in the car while moving, but you can also use them when you get to your destination to keep meat, dairy, and other foods cool and fresh.
Air fryer for fast cooking
An air fryer is a great and useful tool that you should bring with you when you travel. It’s the latest trend, and many people use it to fry all kinds of things. You can cook your best foods without adding oil. Not only is it easy to clean up, but it also makes your meals better. If you want to eat a healthy, well-balanced diet while you’re on the road, you need this. When you think about how often you’ll use it, it’s also not that expensive.
Collapsible bowls, utensils and cups
I don’t have to say why foldable bowls, utensils and cups are useful for your portable kitchen. Collapsible bowls are easy to clean, take up little room when they’re empty, and are easy to take on a picnic. Also, they are made of plastic that is safe for food, so they can handle temperatures from boiling to freezing.
USB charger for all your electronic devices
It’s important to bring technology on a caravan camper vacation, whether it’s phones to stay in touch or tablets to play games or watch movies. But your tech isn’t very useful if you don’t have a way to charge it. A USB-powered charger is a great accessory to have around when travelling. It’s best to get a charger with three USB ports and a Smart IC that works with all kinds of phones and computers. Smart IC also figures out how your device’s battery works and optimises the charge, which cuts down on the time it takes to charge and makes the battery last longer.
Diesel Heater
Get a diesel heater if you want to take self-sufficient camping and caravanning to the next level. You won’t have to rely on caravan parks to run your heater or split system air conditioner during the winter. You’ll be nice and warm all season long. If you’re handy, they’re not too hard to put in yourself. Diesel heaters no longer cost over $1,000 like they used to. Now, anyone can buy them for a few hundred on eBay. And, while we’re at heating up water, a solar-powered camping panel can be just as useful.
Awning privacy screen for caravan
There’s nothing better than going outside to read a book or hanging out with friends. But if you don’t have a good place to stay, wind, rain, and hot sun will quickly ruin your plans. Putting your privacy screen in the right place over decks and balconies that face west will keep your space cool and comfy. They will keep the sun from bleaching and ruining your outdoor furniture by letting less UV light and heat through. Even better, privacy screens can also protect you from light wind and rain, especially if you pair them with a movable roof or awning. This means you can have guests over rain or shine.
Caravan ramps and wheel chocks for safety
Once you park your campervan or trailer, you need to make sure it stays there. Here, wheel chocks come in handy because they stop any movement. And then you have caravan ramps which basically are blocks made of plastic or metal that are put under a caravan to keep it level no matter what the ground is like. Tire savers are another great thing to have in your camping gear. They keep caravan tyres from falling into soft ground when the caravan is still for a long time.
So, even though this isn’t the final list of things you need on the road, it’s still a great starting point for accessories and appliances that could make a life-saving difference!
